Heal the Pain, Move Forward

Carael Group's counseling services are customized for the individual. We specialize in treating the 18 - 30 age group, veterans, individuals dealing with schizophrenia, people of color and the LGBTQ+ populations. In our treatment we address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis, life transitions, substance abuse, and the intersectionality of race and spirituality in the healing process.

Counseling

Carael Group works in partnership with the client. Each therapist is trained in the utilization of evidence-based proven, effective treatment techniques for your specific concerns. We use a "think-out-of-the-box" approach because each client requires something different in their treatment and not a cookie cutter experience. Additionally, we educate the client about the role of each therapist. For example, to obtain a license each therapist must complete approximately 600-1,000 hours of pre-graduate experience before moving to the next stage of licensure.  These pre-graduate students are called interns. The next stage of licensure are the licensed graduate professional counselors who must complete 3,000 hours of post-graduate experience prior to receiving their licensure. At Carael Group, we call these post-graduate professional counselors, are called residents who possess a provisional license issued by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. Once their residency is complete, the therapist applies for licensure and becomes a  fully Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.  This entire process can take some time to complete depending on the therapist and their stage in the licensure process. The advantage of working with your therapist at different stages of their journey allows you, the client, to develop a long-term relationship with your therapist which is advantageous to your healing process and growth journey. Healing with your therapist  will take time; however, it is our mission to address your healing in less time, but be aware that time is a necessary component to healing.

During your growth journey you will begin to recognize the power of maintaining a consistent relationship with your therapist which helps to foster trust and increases a better and effective working alliance with your therapist and you. Our goal is to create an individualized experience.
